Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Mapling is a concept-mapping app built to keep your thinking private. This policy explains what happens to your data.

Your notes stay on your device

Mapling is local-first. The concepts, connections, and maps you create are stored only on the device where you create them. We do not run a server that receives or stores your notes, and you do not need an account to use the app.

Backups are yours to control

When you choose to export a backup, Mapling creates a file and hands it to your device's share sheet so you can save it wherever you like — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Files. That transfer is initiated by you and goes to a destination you choose. We never receive a copy.

Advertising

The free version of Mapling shows banner advertising provided by Google AdMob — never on the map itself. Mapling requests non-personalized ads only: ads are not based on tracking your activity across apps or websites, and Mapling does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. AdMob may process a limited set of technical data (such as a coarse device identifier and general region) to serve and measure these ads — see Google's Privacy Policy. Purchasing Mapling Plus removes all advertising.

Purchases

Mapling Plus is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Mapling does not see or store your payment information; the store confirms only whether you own the purchase.

Analytics

Mapling includes no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you or sell any data.

Children

Mapling is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
